Among the numerous prophecies of profound prosperity for Israel in this beginning of its new era, we read Ezekiel 36:8 - But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come. 9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:36:10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. If one is willing to believe that prediction he can easily see that it has already begun! Whereas an hundred years ago the land was hardly tilled or sown, today Israel is a net exporter of foodstuffs to the world. Its forests contain millions of flourishing trees. Its economy is roaring ahead of every other Western country and employment is essentially full. Its population is burgeoning, its fertility rate high. Its high-technology industries export billions of dollars worth of state of the art electronics and military hardware yearly. Its water management is the most advanced in the world. Just as Ezekiel has predicted, its prosperity is phenomenal! This is clearly a reflection of the blessings given them by their Father in the last days. Note that the last phrase of those verses reveals the culminating event of Israel in this present era: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. However, that is a condition not yet attained by God’s people – but that blessing is also certain. Israel is a clean, contemporary, orderly and respectful society in a roaring, seething maelstrom – a tossing sea of nations of another sort – all bent upon Israel’s destruction. Its blessing is clearly a function of their having “returned to Him” in the sense of having returned to His Land. Micah clearly prophecies that the Almighty shall give them up (abandon His people) UNTIL … “she (clearly this is Zionism, underwritten by the Father Himself) which travaileth hath brought forth (a nation). A result which we must admit because that is what has occurred in this fulfillment. His Plan as determined comes as a result: THEN the remnant of His people shall return unto the (land of) the Children of Israel. Return = Blessing! Micah’s next verse includes this poignant blessing: and they shall abide (remain).
